Alexander. <br /> <br />A petition signed by merchants against the operation of <br />an open air market by Henry S. 0kamoto at 1330 S. Main <br />Street, was presented. On motion of Trustee Hasenjaeger, <br />seconded by Warner and carried, the Clerk was instructed <br />to cite Henry S. 0kamoto to appear before the City Council <br />July 5th, 1932, at 7:30 P.~I., to show cause if he is <br />operating within the limits of the City Zoning Ordinance. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Hasenjaeger, seconded by Penn and <br />carried, the communication and Resolution of the City <br />Los Angeles urging Congress to authorize the Federal <br />Reconstruction Finance Corporation to purchase the Met- <br />ropolitan ~ater District Bonds, was referred to the City <br />Attorney. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Hasenjaeger and <br />carried, the communication of A. F. Selbe, 407 Halesworth <br />Street, Santa Ana, requesting relief or work for himself <br />and family, was referred to the Emergency Relief Committee <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Hasenjaeger, seconded by McBride and <br />carried, the application of Buddy Lewis for permission to <br />s~ll soft drinks and produce in front of property at <br /> <br />1610 N. Flower Street, was denied on recommendation of <br />the Planning Comnission. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Hasenjaeger, seconded by Warner and <br />carried, the application of Vicente M. Ballester for a <br />permit to construct a brick store building and install <br />two gasoline pumps and oil tanks to conduct a motor fill- <br />ing station at the southwest corner of First and Franklin <br />Streets, was referred to the Planning Commission. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Warner, seconded by HasenJaeger and <br />carried, the property at the southeast corner of First <br />and B?istol Streets was ordered posted for special uses <br />and the hearing date set July Sth, 1932, as recommended <br />by the Planning Con~nission and in accordance with the <br />application of C. J. Alexander to erect a service station. <br /> <br /> <br />
