Smut a Ana City Hall. July 18th, 1932. V:30 P.M. City Council met in regular session. Meeting called to order by Mayor Witmer. Present: Trustees J.L. McBride, E.G. Warner, W.H. Penn, A.C. Hasenjaeger, Paul B. Witmer. Absent: Minutes Trus tees None · of meetings of June 20th, 27, July 5th and llth were approved as read. In Re Application J. S. Pruitt. In Re Communication Crafts Greater Shows. In Re Resignations Police Officers. In Re Request of Barber Shops. In Re Request of Ricardo Plasencia. In Re Library Board Report. On motion of Trustee Warner, seconded by McBride and car- ried, the application of J. S. Pruitt for position as Janitor, if such a vacancy should occur, was received mud filed for future reference. On motion of Trustee McBride, secmded by Hasenjaeger and carried, the communication of Crafts Greater Shows recom- mending that any carnival be required to furnish a recom- mendation from the law enforcement of the last three plac where they exhibited, which would establish the character and quality of their show before they are given a pe~nit, was referred to the Police Department. On motion of Trustee Warner, secc~ded by McBride and car- tied, the resignations of Lon Morris as Police Officer to take effect at once and of T. H. Bond as Police 0ffi- cer to take effect August 1st, 1932, were accepted. On motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Warner and car- ried, the request of Barbers operating Shops in Santa Ana Urging the Council to adopt an Ordinance regulating the the closing hours of Barber Shops, was denied. ,, On motion of Trustee Penn, seccnded by Warner and car- ried, the request of Ricardo Plasencia for a free permit to conduct a weekly dance for Mexican people at 2006 W. Fifth Street, for t~he benefit of unemployed Mexicans, was referred to the Chief of Police with power to act. ,, On motion of Trustee Hasenjaeger, seconded by Warner and carried, the report of the Library Board for the fiscal year ending June 30th, 1932, was referred to the Finance Commit t e e.
