No. Protest Removal of Crossing Gates--E. 4th St. Tustin Stage Line, for a loading zone for his stage at the so~thwest corner of Third and Broadway was referred to Trustee Hasenjaeger for investigation. . On motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Hasenjaeger and carried, the communication of J. F. Burke, publisher of the S2nta Ana Register, with reference to the prices set forth in his bid for City Advertising, was received and filed. On motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Hasenjaeger and carried, all bids for City Advertising were rejected and the City Clerk was instructed to advertise for new bids. On motion of Trustee McBride, ried, the application of the seconded by Warner and car- ~hell Oil Company for a per- mit to erect a service station at the northwest corner of First and Bush Streets, was referred to the Planning Co~mmission. On motion of Trustee Warner, seconded by McBride and carried, the recon~nendation of the Planning Commission was accepted and the application of the Shell Oil Company was granted to erect a service station at the northwest corner of First and Bush Streets. On motion of Trustee Warner, seconded by Penn and carried the application of Vincent N. Ballester for permission to cut the curb 5G feet O~ Franklin Street and SZ feet on West First Street at his service station, was referred to the City E~ineer and Trustee Hasenjaeger. On motion of Trustee Hasenjaeg~r, seconded by McBride and carried, the application of the Motorcycle Sports Asso- ciation for the use of the Municipal Bowl for motorcycle races on the basis of ten percent of the gross receipts with a minimum of t~50.00 to the City, was granted. A resolution was introduced as follows: "V~EREAS, the Southern Pacific Comoany and the Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe R~ilway Company ~ave ~ade application' to remove tb~ gates of their railroad crossi~zs on East Fourth Street in the City of Santa Aha, California; and WHerEAS, said request is now pending before the State Railroad Commission; and Wtf2REAS, the State Railroad Commission has set said applications for hearing on September 2, 19Z~, at lO:ZO A.M., in the City of Santa Aha; and ~HEREAS, after investigation sad. hearing on the part of said Bo~rd of Trustees of the Cit~ of Santa Aha, it is believed that the removal of said gates would jeopardize the safety of the public and result in greator injury to t~he public than is now existing: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that it is the sense of the Board of Trustees of the City of Santa Aha that said gates should remain, and in t~hat respect said Board of Trustees of the City of Santa Ana hereby officially
