Santa Ana City Hall. October 9th, 1933. 7:30 P.M. City Council met in regular a~ ourned session. Meeting called to order by Mayor Witmer. Present: Trustees A.F. LeGaye, E.G. Warner, W.H. Penn, A.C. HasenJaeger, Paul B. Witmer. Absent: Trustees None. In Re Report on Jack Fisher Park. In Re Applications to Sell BeVerages. In Re Application Michael J. Nichols In Re City Hall Building. In Re Automobile Insurance. On motion of Trustee Warner, seconded by LeGaye and car- ried, the report of the City Engineer stating that 907 people used the stoves and tables in Jack Fisher Park from September 16th to October Bth, 1933, was received and filed. ,, On motion of Trustee Hasenjaeger, seconded by Penn and 'carried, th~ applications of Globe Bottling Co., 1621 W. Fifth Street to sell wholesale beverages and of Vicente M Ballester, lB10 W. Fourth Street to sell on-sale beverage~ were granted with the Provision that licenses will be revoked if firms do not comply with the Ordinance regu- lating said businesses. On motion of Trustee Warner, seconded by Penn and car- ried, the appl~c~ation of Michael J. Nichols to conduct a Pool Hall at 902 E. Fourth Street, was granted on recom- mendation of the Chief of Police and Police Commissioner. Messrs. W. B. Martin and J. N. Harding appeared before the City Cbuncil representing the Citizens Civic Affairs Association requesting that action be deferred for one week to lease the Frances Willard High School Building at Tenth and Main Streets, to permit the filing of a peti- tion by property owners and residents requesting the City Council to call a special election for the purpose of submitting to the electors of Santa Aha the proposition to borrow from the United States Government the sum of $70,000.00 for the construction of a modern City Hall Building upon the property owned by the City at Third and Main Streets. No action was taken. On motion of T~ustee Warner, seconded by HasenJaeger and carried, the recommendatioh of the City Auditor was approved and the bid of E. M. Sundquist, Agent of the General Insurance~Company of America in amount of $1,829.31 covering fire and theft, public liability and property damage on the City~s fleet of automobiles, was accepted.
