On motion of Trustee HasenJaeger, seconded by Penn and carried, the communication of the Superior California Public Ownership League calling a State Convention in Sacramento this Fair Week for the purpose of organizing a powerful group of people who are interested in havizE their own co~,anity own its distributing systems for electricity and gas, was received and placed on file. On motion of Trustee Hase~Jaeger, seconded by Warner and carried, the communication from The Metropolitan Water District relative to payim~ out of the municipal funds all or any portion of t he amount of the Water District tax which would otherwise be levied upon property within the City for the fiscal year 1933-1934, was referred to Mrs S.H. Finley. On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by HasenJaeger and carried, the application of Willis Doctolen for permis- sion to conduct a pool hall at 2106 W. Fifth Street, was referred to· the Police Commissioner and Chief of Police. On motion of Trustee HasenJaeger, seconded by LeGaye carried, the application of J. M. Ramirez to sell legal beverages at his place of business, 903 E. Fourth Street was granted with the provision that license will be revocable if person or firm does not comply with the Ordinance regulating such business. On motion of Trustee HasenJaeger, seconded by LeGaye and carried, the report of W. T. Lambert, County Auditor placing Santa Ana,s valuation for the year 1933-1934 at $1~,885,748.00, was referred to the City Auditor. . On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Wgrner and car- ried, the City Attorney was instructed to prepa.re a Resolution officially dedicating the Park at N. Flower Street and the Santiago Creek, as the Jack Fisher Park. On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Warner and car- ried, the City Council proceeded to open bids on street sweeper as follows:
