RESOLUTION NO. 53-77 GRANTinG A VARIANCE 0NANAPPLICA- <br /> TIONAFTER THE PLANNING COMMISSIONRECOM~.NDED DENIAL <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Application No. 379, seeking a Variance to allow <br /> one room in residence located at 1323 W. Edinger Street, Santa Aha <br /> to be used as a Dry Cleaning and Tailoring Agency; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Planning Commis.sion did hold a public hearing <br /> on said Application and on April 27, 1953 adopted Resolution No. <br /> 512 recommending that the proposed Variance be denied; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS,. the City Council held a public hearing on said Appli- <br />cation on May &, 1953 and continued said hearing to May 15, 1953 <br />when proponents and opponents were again heard; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council now <br />finds that special circumstances are attached to the property which <br />do not generally apply to other property in the vicinity in that, <br />this residence is older than the others, is on a corner, is the only <br />house facing Edinger Street and is beside an Alpha Beta Food Market; <br />that the granting of this Variance is essential to the enjoyment of <br />a substantial property right possessed by other property in the same <br />vicinity; and that the granting of the Variance will not result in <br />material damage or prejudice to other property in the same vicinity; <br />and <br /> <br /> BE IT ~W3RTHEE RESOLVED: That the City Council hereby grants <br />the Variance to allow a Dry Cleaning and Tailoring Agency to be lo- <br />cated in the living room of the residence located on property in the <br />City of Santa, described as: <br /> <br /> Lot 26 of Tract No. 1505 as per map thereof <br /> recorded in Book 45 at page &0 of Miscellaneous <br /> Maps of Orange County, <br /> <br />upon the following conditions: <br /> <br /> 1. There is to be no dry cleaning equipment, no steam presses, <br />and no steam boilers upon the property; <br /> <br /> 2. There is to be only one sign which shall be unlighted and <br />shall not exceed 12 s~uare feet in area; <br /> <br /> <br />
