On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried, the County of Orange was granted permission to construct an ~xperimental Sewage Treatment Plant on the following described parcel, of land: Beginning at a point 100 feet East of the Southwest corner of .Lot 4 as shown on a map Of Tract No..4@8 recorded in Book 1V, ~page 4, Miscellane- ous Maps Records of 0ra~g~County, 'California. Thence~ East lO0 feet,.thence North 100 feet, thence West 100 feet, thence South 100 feet~te the Point 6f beginning. .Said permi~ tO cover ~a period~'of five years dated from July 30th, 1934. On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, the application of the Seventh Day Adventist Church for permission to solicit for donations towards their general fund for Missions, was referred to a committee to investi- gate. Trustees Rowland, Penn and Bruns were appointed as the committee. On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, the application of F. S. McClain to conduct a Pool Hall at 902 E. Fourth Street, was referred to the Chief of Police and Police Con~nissioner to investigate. ,, On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Rowland and car- ried, the affidavit of A. M. Caspari, manager of the Her Brau Cafe at 509 W. Fourth Street, alleging persection by the City Attorney in the matter of his arrest for vio- lation of liquor laws, was referred to Judge J. G. Mitchel ,, On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried, the recommendation of the Chief of Police was accepted and Chas. L. Coleman was granted permission to use the northeast corner of Fourth and French Streets to h01d street meetings for gospel services. ,, On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Rowland and car- ried, the report of the City Clerk was accepted, certify- lng that he had check or caused to be checked under his supervision, the initiative petition requesting repeal of Ordinance No. ~94 of the City of Santa Ana, providing for the levy and collection of a tax not exceeding twelve cent on each One Htu'Adred Dollars, for the purpose of music and advertising, presented to the City COuncil on Monday, July 16th, 1934, and found the required number of quali- fied electors, namely 2398, for the cs&ling of the elec- tion upon said petition.
