Thence~ <br />East lO0 feet,.thence North 100 feet, thence West 100 <br />feet, thence South 100 feet~te the Point 6f beginning. <br />.Said permi~ tO cover ~a period~'of five years dated from <br />July 30th, 1934. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br /> the application of the Seventh Day Adventist Church for <br /> permission to solicit for donations towards their general <br /> fund for Missions, was referred to a committee to investi- <br /> gate. Trustees Rowland, Penn and Bruns were appointed <br /> as the committee. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br /> the application of F. S. McClain to conduct a Pool Hall <br /> at 902 E. Fourth Street, was referred to the Chief of <br /> Police and Police Con~nissioner to investigate. <br /> <br /> ,, <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Rowland and car- <br />ried, the affidavit of A. M. Caspari, manager of the Her <br />Brau Cafe at 509 W. Fourth Street, alleging persection <br />by the City Attorney in the matter of his arrest for vio- <br />lation of liquor laws, was referred to Judge J. G. Mitchel <br />,, <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried, <br /> the recommendation of the Chief of Police was accepted <br /> and Chas. L. Coleman was granted permission to use the <br /> northeast corner of Fourth and French Streets to h01d <br /> street meetings for gospel services. <br /> <br /> ,, <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Rowland and car- <br /> ried, the report of the City Clerk was accepted, certify- <br /> lng that he had check or caused to be checked under his <br /> supervision, the initiative petition requesting repeal of <br /> Ordinance No. ~94 of the City of Santa Ana, providing for <br /> the levy and collection of a tax not exceeding twelve cent <br /> on each One Htu'Adred Dollars, for the purpose of music and <br /> advertising, presented to the City COuncil on Monday, <br /> July 16th, 1934, and found the required number of quali- <br /> fied electors, namely 2398, for the cs&ling of the elec- <br /> tion upon said petition. <br /> <br /> <br />
