RESOLUTION NO. 54-1h <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE C~£x COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OFtANTAANA - <br />~PPRO'VIN~ ~N AGHEE~ENT ~LATING TO THE GRANT- <br />ING OF PE~viISSION TO ORANGE COUNTY SANITATION <br />DISTRICT NO. 6 AND TtDg MID~AY CITY S~ITAHY <br />DISTRICT TO CONNECT THEIR SE~GE DISPOSAL <br />SYSTE4 AND LI~f£S TO TB.E TRUNK SEWER LINES AND <br />SEa,AGE DISPOSAL SYSTEM AND TP~AT~ENT PLANT OF <br />THE ORANGE COUNTY JOINT OUTFALL SEWER AND TO <br />DISCHARGE SEa,AGE THEREIN, AND APPROVING AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AGREEMEI~S TO BE <br />i,~DE AND ENTERED INTO BY AND BETWEEN ORANGE <br />COUNTY SANITATION DISTRICT NO. 6 AND MIDWAY <br />CITY SANITARY DISTRICT AND THL CITIES AND SAN- <br />ITARY DISTRICTS OF THE ORAEGE COUNTY JOINT <br />OUTFALL SEWER. <br /> <br /> WHEItEAS, by reason of the rapid increase and concentration of <br />population within the boundaries of Orange County Sanitation District <br />U,~. 6 an~ the Midway City Sanitary District, and ~he cohdltion of the <br />soil within said districts, cesspools and septic tanks are overflowing <br />onto the surface of the ground and causing a serious existing and poten- <br />tial hazard to the public heal,h, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by reason of the foregoing conditions, said Districts <br />have requested the consent of the Cities and Sanitary Districts of the <br />Orange County Joint 0utfall Sewer to connec~ the sewage disposal sys- <br />tems and lines of said districts to the trunk sewer lines and sewage <br />disposal system and treatment plant of the Orange County Joint Outfall <br />Sewer, and permission to discharge immediately into said trunk sewer <br />Tines and disposal system of said Orange County Joint Outfall Sewer, <br />all sewage arising within the boundaries of said districts, prior to <br />the time authorized by the provisions of that certain agreement ~de <br />and entered into by and between Orange County Sanitation Districts <br />Nos. l, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7 and ll and the Cities and Sanitary Districts of <br />the Orange County Joint 0utfall Sewer da~ed February 28, 1951, and <br />entitled "Agreement of Sale and Purchase" and prior to the time auth- <br />orized by the provisions of that certain agreement made and entered <br />into by and between the Midway City Sanitary Distric~ and the Cities <br />and Sanitary Districts. of the Orange County Join~ Outfall Sewer dated <br />the 8-2-10. day of April , 1952, and <br /> <br /> WHEBLAS the Cities and Sanitary Districts of the Orange County <br />Joint Outfall Sewer have been urged by the State and County Health <br />Departments and Regional Water Pollution Control Board No. 8 of ~he <br />State of California to permit Orange County Sanitation District No. 6 <br />and Midway City Sanitary Distric~ ~o connect their sewage disposal <br />systems to the Orange County Joint Outfall T~unk Sewer lines and dis- <br />posal system and to discharge sewage therein, in order to eliminate <br />said serious hazard to the public health, and <br /> <br /> WF~BEAS, by reason of the limited capacity available in the trunk <br />sewer lines and sewage disposal system of the Orange County Joint Out- <br />fall Sewer, it will be neeessary to construct 3300 feet of l~-inch steel <br />pipeline to parallel the 42-inch portion of the line in Section l, and <br /> <br /> wHEP~EAS Orange County Sanitation District No. 6 has offered to <br />enter into an agreement with the Cities and Sanitary Districts of the <br />Orange County Joint 0utfall Sewer for the Joint construction of said <br />additional line, upon the terms and conditions of that certain agreement <br />submitted to and approved by the Executive Committee of the Joint Out- <br />fall Sewer on January 7, 1954, a copy of which is on file in the <br /> <br />-1- <br /> <br /> <br />
