Andrew with reference to spon- soring a safety educational program in the City, was referred to the Police Commissioner. . On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried, the application of Gilbert-Weston-Stearns, Inc. to install an electric conduit against the east wall of the Hervey Building occupied by the J.C. Penney Company at Fourth and Bush Streets, on the Bush Street side, was granted under the supervision of the Electrical Inspector. # On ~otion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Smith and carried, the report of progress for the month of June, 1936, of the Metropolitan Water District, was referred to the City Auditor to be condensed into a briefer report for the City Council. # On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton and carried, the application of W. Hawthorne to have the property known as Lots I and 2, Block "B", Gardner Subdivision, southwest corner of Eighth and Birch Streets, rezoned from Residential to First Class Apartment House Dis- trict, was referred to the Planning Commission. On recommendation of the Planning Comnission and on mot ion of T~ustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, the property at the southwest co~ner of Eighth and Birch Streets was ordered posted for First Class Apartment House District and the Joint hearing date set August l?th, 1936.
