RESOLUTION NO. 54-90 DETERMINING THAT REPAVING THIRD <br />STi~EET ~AAY BE MO!~ ECO'"I;O~ICALLY DONE WITH CITY FORCES <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, heretofore, the City of Santa Ana published notice <br />inviting bids for the paving of Third Street from Ross Street to <br />Spurgeon Street, two bids were submitted and regularly opened on <br />May 3, 1954, the total prices contained in said bids were <br />$26,693.50 and $30,348.?5 and the same were referred to committee <br />for study and report; and <br /> <br /> ~NHEREAS, on May 17, 1954 the City Manager reported to the City <br />Council of the City of Santa Ana that said bids far exceeded the <br />estimate for said work and that said work could be more economically <br />done by the City with its own employees and Said Council authorized <br />employment of Sidney Lowry, Civil F~gineer, as a consultant on said <br />work and after considering said engineer's report <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the <br />City of Santa Ana hereby determines and declares that, in its <br />opinion based on estimates submitted by the City Manager, the work <br />of repaving Third Street from Ross Street to Spurgeon Street may be <br />performed more economically by the City with its own employees; that <br />all bids are rejected and the Acting Director of Public Works is <br />authorized to proceed with the work according to the original plans <br />and specifications with the minor modifications recommended by the <br />said ~onsulting E~gtneer. <br /> <br /> PASSED &ND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana <br />at its regular meeting held on ~he 21st day of June, 19~4. <br /> <br />ATTEST~ , <br />CLERK OF T~ CO~CIL <br /> <br />STATE OF CALIFOREiA ) <br />COUNTY OF ORANGE ) SS <br />CITY OF SANT& A!~A ) <br /> <br />(SEAL) <br /> <br /> I, E~A KEELER, do hereby certify that I am the Clerk of the <br />Council of'the City of Santa Ana; that the foregoing Resolution was <br />regularly introduced to said Council at its regular meeting held on <br />June 21, 1954 and was at said meeting passed and adopted by the <br />following vote, to-wit: <br /> <br /> <br />
