Council Chambers <br /> <br />Santa Aha City Hall. <br /> <br />June 5th, 1939. 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />City Council met in regular seesion. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Present: Trustees Plummet W. Bruns, Joseph P. Smith, <br /> E. D. Yost, D. W. Eelsey, Fred C. Rowland. <br /> <br />Absent: Trustees None. <br /> <br />The Clerk commenced the reading of the Minutes and <br />each member of the City Council having received a <br />copy of the Minutes, further reading of the Minutes <br />of Nay 15th and 22nd, 1939, was dispensed with and <br />the Minutes approved on motion of Trustee Bruns, <br />seconded by Yost and carried. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Request of <br /> <br />?th Day Adventist <br /> <br />Church. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Petition of <br /> <br />Rev. Howard. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Demand of Property <br /> <br />Owners--Nonty's Grocery. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Yost and carried, <br />the request of the Seventh Day Adventist Church for permis- <br />sion to use the Club House and surrounding tables in Santiago <br />Park on June 26th, for an old fashioned ice cream social, <br />was referred to the Department of Public Ways and the Super- <br />intendent of Parks with power to act. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, <br />the petition of Rev. Wm. Schmoook for the Orange Circuit of <br />Lutheran Churches for the use of the Municipal Bowl July 2nd, <br />to hold a Joint centennial service, was referred to the <br />ment of Public Waye and the Superintendent of Parks with <br />power to act. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />~he communication of the Men's Social Club of Santa Ana, <br />endorsing Mr. Edward Palmer for the position of truck driver <br />or any position the City has to offer, was referred to the <br />City Auditor as the Personnel Officer. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, <br />the application of F. P. Nickey, Jr., Scoutmaster of Rotary <br />Troop 24, Boy Scouts of America, for permission to sell <br />works, was granted under supervision of the Department of <br />Public Safety. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the communication of the Civil Service Commission granting <br />the request of Floyd W. Howard, former Chief of Police, for <br />a three months leave of absence and the privilege of a three <br />months extension without pay, with the rank of Sergeant of <br />Police', was received and filed. , <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Kelsey and carried, <br />the demand of property owners and tenants against the moving <br />or construction of Monty's Grocery at the corner of Flower <br /> <br /> <br />
