APPROVED: <br /> <br />Mayor of the <br /> <br />y of Santa Ana. <br /> <br />,, <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Yost and Carried, <br />the City Council adjourned. <br /> <br /> ~ ~i'ty~C]~ rk. <br /> <br />Council Chambers <br /> <br />Santa Ana City Hall. <br /> <br />July 5th, 1939. 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />City Council met in regular session. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Present: Trustees Plummet W. Bruns, Joseph P. Smith, <br /> E.D. Yost, D. W. Kelsey, Fred C. Rowland. <br /> <br />Absent: Trustees None. <br /> <br />The Clerk commenced the reading of the Minutes and <br />each member of the City Council having received a copy <br />of the Minutes, further reading of the Minutes of June <br />19th, 1939, was dispensed with and the Minutes'approved <br />on motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Kelsey and carried. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Invitation <br /> <br />to City Picnic. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Communication <br /> <br />Optimist Club. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Communication <br /> <br />S. A, Realty Board. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Request of <br /> <br />Safeway Stores. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Yost and carried, <br />the communication of the Santa Aha City Employees Association <br />extending an invitation to the members of the City Council <br />to attend the city picnic Saturday afternoon, July 15th,was <br />received, acknowledged and filed and the Council expressed <br />their intention of attending. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Kelsey, seconded by Yost and carried, <br />the communication of B. T. Woodward, Chairman, Committee on <br />Civic Affairs and Public Health of the Optimist Club of <br />Santa Ana, stating the Club's desire tocooperate with the <br />Government of the City for the expansion of business and <br /> <br />introduction of new business and <br />acknowledged and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee <br /> <br />the communication of <br /> <br />industry, was received, <br /> <br />Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the Santa Ana Realty Board with refer- <br /> <br />ence to the resolution passed commending the <br />bet of Commerce for the work they are doing to <br />Santa Ana, was received and filed. <br /> <br />Santa Ana Cham- <br /> advertise <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the request of the Safeway Stores for permission to hold a <br />formal opening entertainment at their new store atJEighth <br />and Main Streets on Saturday, July 8th, was granted. <br /> <br /> <br />
