APPROVED: <br /> <br />Mayor of the ~ity of Santa Ana. <br /> <br />## <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Eelsey, <br />the City Council adjourned. <br /> <br />seconded by Yost and carried, <br /> <br />Deputy. <br /> <br />Council Chambers <br /> <br />Santa Ana City Hall. <br /> <br />January 15th, 1940. 7:50 P.M. <br /> <br />City Council met in regular session. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Present: Trustees Plummet W. Bruno, Joseph P. Smith, <br /> E. D. Yost, D. W. Eelsey, Fred C. Rowland. <br /> <br />Absent: Trustees None. <br /> <br />· he Clerk commenced the reading of the Minutes and <br />each member of the City Council having received a <br />copy of theMinutes, further reading of the Minutes <br />of January 2nd, 1940, was dispensed with and approved <br />on motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Eelsey and carried. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Request of <br /> <br />Order of De Molay. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Police Dept. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Electric Signs. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Application <br /> <br />Watson Easterly. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Communication <br /> <br />Rev. Jose Origel. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, <br />the request of Santa Ana Chapter, Order of DeMolay, that the <br />Council set aside Monday, March 1Sth, as the Fifth Annual <br />DeMolay Civic Day, was granted. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Yost and carried, <br /> the monthly report of the Police Department for the month of <br /> December, was received and referred to the Council. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Yost, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the applications of the Powell Neon Sign Company to hang <br />electric signs for Edwards Service Station at 2064 S. Main <br />Street and for John Pierson's Cafe at 404 W. Fourth Street, <br />were granted and ordered hung under the supervision of the <br />Electrical Inspector. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Yost and carried, <br /> the application of Watson Easterly for a permit to drive a <br /> taxicab for the White Cab Company, was granted on recommenda- <br /> tion of the Taxicab Commission. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by ¥ost and carried, <br /> the communication of Rev. Jose Origel concerning the condi- <br /> tion of streets in Delhi during the rainy season, was receive. <br /> <br /> <br />
