Counties <br /> <br />Gas Co. <br /> <br /> Conference during the year 1942, was received, filed and <br /> referred to the Department of Civic Development. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Yost, seconded by Hill and carried, <br /> the request of the Barr Lumber Company to install flood- <br /> lights at their yard south of Third Street near Evergreen, <br /> was referred to the Department of Public Safety and Electrics <br /> Inspector with power to act. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Kelsey, seconded by Yost and carried, <br /> the Bart Lumber Company was given permission, under direction <br /> of the Electrical Inspector, to cross the thoroughfare ~lth <br /> an electric power line necessary to feed circuit for flood <br /> lights, until the present emergency is over and other arrange <br /> merits are made. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Eelsey, seconded by Yost and carried, <br /> the communication from the Traffic Safety Commission recommen <br /> lng that vapor lights be installed above the intersections of <br /> Buffalo and Main Streets, and Washington and Main Streets, <br /> was referred to the Department of Public Ways for investiga- <br /> tion and report back to the Council. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Kelsey, seconded by Yost and carried, <br />the voucher in the amount of $41,000.00 from the War Depart- <br />ment United States Engineer Office, covering consideration <br />for permission to connect sewage disposal line to be con- <br />structed to the Joint Outfall Sewer for use of the Air Cadet <br />Center on Newport Boulevard, was acknowledged and Clerk <br />instructed to deposit voucher. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, aeconded by Hill and carried, <br />the communication from Director D. K. Hammond of the Santa <br />Aha Junior College, inclosing financial statement of football <br />games held.in the Municipal Bowl showing rentals in the <br />amount of $1P.37.69 due the City, was received, acknowledged <br />and referred to the Auditor to give proper credit on loan of <br />$4000..00 made by the Associated Students for additions to <br />Bowl grandstand. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Kelsey, seconded by Yost and carried, <br />the request of the Southern Counties Gas Company that the <br />City pass an Emergency Ordinance releasing the Gas Company, <br />under existing Ordinances, from maintenance of red lanterns <br />at night around street excavations and constructions so that <br />they can cooperate with Civilian Defense groups during a <br /> <br />black-out, was received, acknowledged and filed and the Clerk <br />to convey the information that a Uniform Ordinance is being <br />prepared to take care of the situation. <br /> <br /> <br />
