No. 29Zl <br /> <br />State Parks at Beach. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Banners for <br /> <br />May Day Celebration. <br /> <br /> Ayes, <br /> <br /> Noes, <br />Absen$, <br /> <br /># <br /> <br /> Trustee Smith, as a member of the committee, assureithe pub- <br /> lic that they will continue their work to bring about the <br /> establishment of an airport and flying school in the County <br /> and hoped t'o have something official to report within a few <br /> days. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br />Mr. Roberts appeared protesting against roots of trees dam- <br />aging sidewalks in front of his residence, llO1 French Stree~ <br />and also in front of Mrs. Reeves residence, 1~9 French St. <br />The matter was referred to the Department of Public Ways and <br />the C~ty Engineer for investigation. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Yost, seconded by Hill and carried, a <br />a Resolution requesting the California State Park Commission <br />to eliminate the policy of a 'Matching Clause# in the State <br />Budget Act and take steps to acquire lands and beach areas <br />between Huntington Beach and Newport Beach for the purpose <br />of dedicating it to the public for beach park development, <br />was read, considered, desigm~ed Resolution No. 2921 and <br />passed by the following vote: <br /> <br /> Trustees Herbert L. Hill, E. D. Yost, Plummer W.Bruns <br /> Trustees Joseph P. Smith, D. W. Kelsey. <br /> Trustees None. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee £elsey, <br /> <br />seconded by Smith and carried, <br /> <br />the Director of Public Ways was instructed to have the city <br /> hung on City streets <br />banners/as well as the drapes of the ~unerican Legion and Elks <br /> <br />Club, for ~he May Day celebration. <br /> <br />APPROVED: <br /> <br />MAyor of the City of Santa Aha. <br /> <br />On motion of Tr~ tee Hill, seconded by Yost and carried, <br /> <br />the City Council adjourned to Monday, April 28th, 1941, at <br />3:00 o'clock P.M. in the Council Chamber. <br /> <br /> <br />
