Trustee Dixon was appointed by <br />the Chair to represent the City Council. <br /> <br />Commttnication from Sunset Advertising System requesting that <br />the ~eber Baking Co. be permitted to place five or more <br />courtesy benches for the convenience of the bus and street car <br />riding people of the City was read, and on motion of Tr~stee <br />Deckert, seconded by Dixon and carried, the matter was referred <br />to the City Attorney to ascertain whether the benches will be <br />properly covered by insurance and that the Planning Co~m~iss~on <br />and Street Superintendent supervise the placimg of these <br /> <br /> the various locations. <br /> <br />be~ches at <br />A petition <br /> <br /> from the members of the San~a Ana Council of Churc_b <br />Women requesting that a more adequate police patrol of the <br />streets be provided, especially at night, and that the c~rfew <br />law be rigidly enforced, was read, and on motion of Trustee <br />Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried, the matter was <br />referred to the Council as a whole for f~rther sttldy and <br />action. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and <br /> CarI ] ed, <br /> <br />the report of Phll Brown, Secy. Civil Service Board, relative <br />to various appointments in the Police an~ F~re Departmemts, <br />was received and filed. <br /> <br />The request of Dorothy Kntpper that a loading zo~e be establish- <br />ed in front of her place of b~sines.~ on Sycamore St. at W.~rd, <br />and that loading zone in front of vacant store at 120 West <br /> <br />Third St. be abolished, was referred by the Chair to the <br /> <br />Polm .e Department to report back at t~e next meeting. <br /> <br />Om motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Haan and carried, <br />the monthly reports of the B!~ildfng Inspector, City Recorder, <br />and the Po~ndmaster, for the month of April, 1943, were <br />accepted and ordered filed. <br /> <br /> <br />
