<br />Meeting called to order by Mayor Smith.

<br />Absent: Trustees D.W.Kelsey.

<br />The Clerk commenced the reading of the Minutes and each
<br />member of the City Council having received copies of the
<br />Minutes of January 4th, further reading of the Minutes
<br />was dispensed with and approved on motion of Trustee
<br />Bruns, seconded by Yost and carried.

<br />On motion of Trustee Yost, seconded by Mandy and carried
<br />communication from C.F.Skirvin, Field Secy. Chamber of
<br />Commerce, expressing thanks to the Council for financial
<br />support and personal interest in the organization, was
<br />received and filed.

<br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Yost and
<br />carried, the applications of Bet~ Sadie Pruett,
<br />Adeline G. Howell, Bernard S. Miller, Freeman Tripp,
<br />Theodore Charles Baker, P.B.Lee and F.E.Waffle, for
<br />permission to dr~ve taxicabs for the Broadway Cab Co.,
<br />were received and permits granted.

<br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Yost and
<br />
<br />carried, communication from Bomo Koral, thanking the
<br />Council for favors shown him during his service with the
<br />
<br />City, was received and filed.

<br />On motion of Trustee Yost, seconded by Mandy and carried
<br />the resignation of V.L.Motry, from the Tral~fic Safety
<br />Commission, was acceptedw Ith regrets, and Clerk instruc
<br />to write Mr. Motry thmnking him for his services while
<br />
<br /> the Commission.

<br /> reques~of Geo. G. Boyd, Chief of Police, that
<br />Charles Hindley be appointed as a temporary patrolman,
<br />because of the resignation of Officer Jess V. Branch,
<br />and recommending appointment of Snowden F. Fmlkner, as
<br />an emergency patrolman, was received and on motion of
<br />
<br /> seconded by Bruns and carried, the
<br /> granted and appointments approved.
<br />
<br />The recommendation of Geo. G. Boyd, Chief of Police,
<br />that salary of Policewoman, Bertha Anderson, be increase
<br />was received and on motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by
<br />Yost and carried, the salary of Policewoman was set at
<br />
<br />the same rate of pay as a first year patrolman, which
<br />
