No. S181 <br /> <br />Authorizing Execution of <br /> <br />Lease - J.O.S.Treatment Plant <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Employment and Sal~ry of <br /> <br />J.L.McBride, Engineer, Joint <br /> <br />Outfatl Sewer <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Furnishing Water for <br /> <br />Victory Gardens <br /> <br />317 <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Yost, seconded by Mandy and carried <br />matter of closing East 2nd St., temporarily, from <br />Garfield to Breeden St., as long as it is necessary for <br />the BarT Lumber Company to spot freight cars for the <br />unloading of lumber, for defense jobs, if application is <br />made by the Navy Department, was referred to the <br />Attorney, Police chief and Street Superintendent, for <br />investigation so that East 2nd St. may be temporarily <br />closed to the satisfaction of all concerned, and to <br /> <br />report back at <br /> <br />the next meeting. <br /> <br />The report of the Director of Public Health that the <br />granting of a corm~ercial poultry permit to Dr. A.M. <br />Lovaas, at 902 North Artesia St., on acreage consisting <br />of approximately 4.98 acres, would be a direct violation <br />of the Zoning Ordinance, as this property is located in <br />the R-1 District, was read, and on motion of Trustee <br />Bruns, seconded by Yost and carried, the report of <br />Trustee Mandy was accepted and request of Dr. A.M.Lovaas <br />for commercial poultry yard at 902 North Artesia St., <br />was denied. <br /> <br />,, <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Yost and carried <br />a Resolution authorizing the Mayor, on behalf of the Ctt <br />of Santa And and on behalf of parties signatory to the <br />Joint Outfall Sewer agreement to execute ~nd deliver <br />lease to that portion of the Joint Outfall Sewer Treat- <br />ment Plant, which is not needed by the Outfall Sewer <br />Treatment Plant, to Maggie L. Jones and Gus Jones, her <br />son, was read, considered and designated Resolution No. <br />5181 by the following vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes, Trustees E.D.Yost, Ptummer W. Bruns, <br /> Allen A. Mandy, Joseph P. Smith. <br /> Noes, Trustees None <br /> Absent, Trustees D.W.Kelsey. <br /> <br />The report of Trustee Mandy~ member of the Joint Outfall <br />Sewer Board suggesting that the Council refuse to <br />accept the recommendation of the Executive Committee to <br />retain J.L.McBride, as the Engineer, for District No. 1~ <br />at a salary of $250.00 per month, plus ~25.00 per month <br />car allowance, was read, and on motion of Trustee Bruns <br />seconded by Yost and carried, the report of Trustee <br />Mandy was received and the recoramendation concurred in <br />and the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Join <br />Outfall Sewer Board be notified of the Council's action. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Yost, seconded by Bruns and carried <br />the Chair was instructed to appoint a committee to <br />investigate furnishing water for victory gardens for the <br /> <br /> <br />
