On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Martin <br /> <br />and carried, Chairman of the Board was appointed, as a committee <br /> <br />of one, to investigate and consult with Case-Swayne officials in <br /> <br />an effort to remedy the situation. <br />,, <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, Res. <br />No.161 of LaHabra Sanitary District authorizing termination of <br /> <br />contract permitting Newport Beach to use the submarine tube <br /> <br />extending into the Pacific Ocean, was received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, <br /> <br />the monthly reports of the Police Department, Juvenile Bureau <br /> <br />and quarterly report of the Recreation Department, were received <br /> <br />and filed. <br />, <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, <br /> <br />seconded by Cheney and carried, <br /> <br />was authorized to advertise for bids covering the ruin- <br /> <br />two sixty foot poles and tlmree seventy foot poles for <br /> <br />Memorial Park. <br /> <br />of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, the <br /> <br />Resolution entitled: <br /> <br />"Resolution of the City Council of the City <br /> of Santa Ana, California, declaring its <br /> intention to order the construction of certain <br /> sanitary sewer work and work for the supply and <br /> distribution of water in said City of Santa Ana; <br /> declaring the work to be of more than local or <br /> ordinary public benefit; describing the district <br /> to be benefited by said work and to be assessed <br /> to pay a portion of the cost and expense thereof; <br /> determining that bonds shall be issued to represent <br /> assessments to be levied; and fixing the time and <br /> place for hearing protests and objections to said <br /> work or the extent of the district to be assessed, <br /> or both, and giving notice thereof" <br /> <br /> Clerk read opinion from City Attorney relative certain council <br />action and civil service status of Auditor and Purchasing Agent <br /> <br />Change. <br />carried, <br /> <br />office <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Martin, seconded by Reed and <br /> the following Ordinance entitled: <br /> <br /> "An Ordinance to repeal City Ordinance No. 888"creatingI <br />of City Auditor and Purchasing Agent and prescribing dutie. <br /> <br />A petition was read signed by more than 90~ of the property owner <br /> <br /> <br />
