City Council met in regular adjourned session. Meeting called to order by th~ Mayor. ?resent: Trustees Absent: Trustees In Re Canvass Election Returns W.J.Cheney, Courtney R. Chandler, Alien A. Mandy, Virgil H. Reed, R. Carson Smith. No ne ~ · hls being the date to canvass election returns, on motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Reed and carried, the Council ordered the Clerk to proceed with thc canvassing of election returns on the General Municipal Election held April 19th, lq49. The CouncJ finds that as a result of said election the whole number of votes cast were 455V, and that the following persons were voted for with the following results and totals, to-wit: For Members of the Board of Education, of tho Santa ~na High School District. In Re 9esol. No.Z7~l Declaring Result of Election - April 19, 194o. ]. Florence M. Givens received 8V4 votes. George A. King received 9398 votes 3. Ernest V. Barrett received 1719 votes. 4. Frank L. Bowman received 973~ votes. 5. Mary D. Cook received ]109 votes. On motion of Trustee reed, seconded by Mandy and carried, a Mesolution Declaring Result of Election held April 19, 1949, was read showing the following persons elected for the full term of four years: Frank L. Bowman, office of Member of Board of Education. George A. King, office of Member of Board of Education.
