Council Chamber Santa Aha City Hall December 19, 1949. 2:00 P.M. City Council met in regular session. Meeting called to order by the Mayor. Present: Trustees Absent= Trustees W.J.Oheney, Courtney R. Chandler, J.W.Martin, Jr., Virgil H. Reed, Allen A. Mandy. None Each member Of the City 0ouncil having received copies of the Minutes of December 5, 1949, further reading of the Minutes was dispensed with and approved on motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried. In Re On motion of Trustee.Reed, Bids 30 concrete light standards seconded by Chandler and carried, Clerk was authorized to open bids covering the furnishing of thirty concrete light standards, as follows: the Bid of Pacific Union Metal Company: Marbelite design No. 4163--BU42S stan&,wd, mounting height 1707m $98.20 each Nar~eXite design No. 4193-B~425 standard, mounting height 2017' 118.90 each Marbelite design No. 4163-AU42S standard, mounting height 18111m 110.50 each Ma~belite design No. 4193-AU42S standard, mounting height 21'11# 131.25 each Marbelite design Nc. 317-X2 stana--d, mounting height 19e9" 98.50 each Based on 30 standards, we will deliver and erect these standards on foundations prepared by you for the sum of $3.75 each. Certified check in the amount cf $425.00 accompanied bid. Bid of Don Seal & Co. Inc.: 30 Reflectollte aluminum standards 21 feet to light center for the sum of $175.00 each, complete with 4 foot arm as per specifications, or complete with side arm mounting pennant units with ray light No. 100 symetrical typ~ 2,500 - 4,000 o~ 6,000 lumen lamps, for the sum of$195.00- Certified check in the amount of $600.00 accompanied bid. On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by O~andler and carried, bids were referred to committee for checking and to report back. Chairman appointed Pu~ohasing Agent and Park Superintendent, as In Re Communication Mfs.Carl H.LyW~e committee. On motion of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Martin and carried, communication from Mrs. Carl H. Lykes commending the Fire Depart- ment on their inspection of buildings where social activities In Re Communication City Engineer (benches) are held, was received and filed. # 0opy of communication was read fro~ City Engineer advising Ralph Penso to remove the ~wo benches on ~lxe northwest corner of 4th and ~ain Streets. On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Cherts and oa~ried, Engineer was instructed not to issue any further permits to Ralph Penso to place benches until case of Sunset Advertising Co. against the City of Santa Aha and Ralph Penso has been decided. On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chene and carried, co~munica2ion was received, filed and Engineer instructed to follow up provisions as set cumin the Bench contra and have benches located at the northwest corner of 4th and In Re Bids 30 concrete light standards Main Streets removed. # On motion of Trustee 0hnndler, seconded by Martin and carried, th request of the committee for permission to report on the award of bid covering furnishing of concrete light standards, at the next meeting, was granted. #
