Sou. Cal. Edison Co. In Re Resol. Board of Education - Vacating lSth St. In Re Bond - Deputy Treasurer In Re Reso. No. 3388 Oil & Gas Lease - D.~.Elliott & Various Cities In Re Reso. No. 3389 Declaring Weeds a Nuisance Co., in the amount of $4,238.74 covering Franchise Tax under Ord. 1069 for one year ending Dec. 31, 1944, was referr~d to the Auditor for checking and ordered deposit~ ,, A Resolution of the Santa Aha City Board of Education was presented requesting the Council to vacate that portion of lSth St., which lies within the proposed Junior College site, being that portion of lSth St., described as follows: starting at Bristol St. and exte~ lng 2015.63 feet west to the we~t bo~mdary line of the new Junior College site. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon aud carried, the Resolution was referred to the City Enginee~ with instructions that he confer with the Board of Education relative to working out an agreement in regard to vacating 15th St., and to report back at next mesting~ On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Deckert and carried, the bond of Flora Sauers, Deputy Treasurer, written by the Hartford Accident & Indemnity Co., iu the amount of ~$2~,000.00, was approved. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried, the following Resolution entitled: "Resolution Ahtborizing Execution of Oil and Gas Lease with D.W.Elliott, As Lessee" provided all other designated parties to said agreement adopt like resolutions and also execute said agreement~ was read, considered, designated Resolution No. 3388 and passed by the following vote: Ayes, Trustees Noes, Trustees Absent ,Trustees Dale G. Deckert, W. Eugene Dixon, ~. J.Cheney, Asa Hoffman. None Otto R. Haan On motion of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Deckert and carried, the following Resolution entitled: "A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Santa Aha determining and declaring that weeds which bear seeds of a wingy or dov~y nature and attain such a large growth as to become a fire menace when dry, and which are noxious and dangerous, are growing upon certain streets, sidewalks~ and private property in said City of Santa Aha, and are a public nuisance; directing the Street Superintendent to post notices to destroy said weeds as required by law; fixing the time for heariug objections and protests, and directing the abatement thereof in accordance with an act of the Legislature of the State of California entitled, "An act authorizing municipalities to declare noxious or dangerous weeds growing upon the streets or sidewalks or upon private property within municipalities to be a public nuisance, creating a lien upon the property fronting upon such streets or sidewalks, or npon which such nuisence exists for the cost of abating the same, approved May 26, 1915", and amendments thereto." w~s introduced, read, considered, designated Resolution
