Day In Re Tabulation of Votes - City Employees Election 6-18-48. - State Employeest Retirement System In Re Communication Chamber of Commerce Communication from Associated Ch-mbers of Commerce extending an invitation to the Council to attend meeting to be held at Elkts Temple, at Anaheim, June B6th, at ~:00 P.N. was read and on motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Deckert and carried, communication was received and filed. Communication from Santa Ana Junior Chamber of Conunerce advising that they would lend their full support to the project of opening Bristol St., and that Victor Walker be appointed Chairman to represent the group in giving assistance in the furthering of this project was read. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried, the communication was referred to the Planning Commission for their study and to report back within thirty days. ,, Communication from Secy. Civil Service Board recommendin that age limit of Policemen and Firemen, at the time of appointment, shall not be less than twenty-one nor over thirty-six years of age, and that such suggested change be placed on the ballot at the Special City election to be held July 24th, 194§, was read. On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Deckert and carried, communication was referred to the City Attorneyi . Communication from Richard 0. Day, W/0 U.S.A.A.F. relative to proposed location of an Air Field in Santa Ana, was read. On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Cheney and carried, communication was referred to Trustee Deckert, Chairman Aviation Committee and Clerk to advise Mr. Day of this action. Communication from the Committee appointed to tabulate the votes cast by the City Employees June lSth, 1948 on the proposed State Employees' Retirement System revealed 21§ ballots cast on the proposed measure, as follows: Yes No Firemen 41 - Pelicemen 40 1 General 131 - Damaged ballot 1 Blank ballot I Total 21~ 1 2 On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Cheney and carrie, the communication was received and filed.
