City Council met in regular session. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by Mayor Hoffman. <br /> <br />Present: Trustees <br /> <br />Dale G. Deckert, W. Eugene Dixon, <br />Otto R. Haan, W.J. Pilgrim <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Resignation <br /> <br />S.L.Lowry <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Communication <br /> <br />City Engineer <br /> <br />Council Chambers <br /> <br />Santa Ana City Hall <br /> <br />July 2nd, 1948. 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />Communication from Edgar Edwards suggesting that the Gas <br />Co. replace their gas mains before the City completes <br />their work of improving West Fourth St. from Artesia <br />to Southern Pacific Tracks, was read, and on motion of <br />Trustee Haan, seconded by Cheney and carried, comm- <br />unication was referred to City Engineer to report back <br />at the next meeting. <br /> <br />Communication from County Tax Collector stating that <br />the E. 48 ft W. 225 ft. N. 208 ft. Block "A", South <br />Santa Ana '~'ocated in the City of Santa Ana would be <br />sold at public auction, was read. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Di~on and <br />carried, the Clerk was instructed to advl se the County <br />Tax Collector that the City Co~ucil consents to the <br />sale at public auction of this lot. <br /> <br />Request of Chief Building Inspector that he be allowed <br />to hire an Assistant Building Inspector, was read and <br />on motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Deckert and <br />carried, the matter was held over for two weeks for <br />investigation. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Chief of Police and on motion <br />of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Deckert and carried, the <br />appointment of John E. Pilgrim, effective July 2nd, <br />1945, as patrolman, was approved. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Dixon and <br />carried, the resignation of S.L.Lowry, Assistant City <br />Engineer, effective July 16th, 1945, was accepted <br />with regrets. <br /> <br />Communication from City Engineer suggesting that one <br />set of traffic signals be ordered for the intersection <br />at 4th and Broadway and advertise for bids for two <br /> <br /> <br />
