In Re Appoint Asst. Fire Chief, as Fire Chief APPROVED Mayor of t~City of Santa Ana. City Council met in regular session. Meeting called to order by Mayor Hoffman. Due to illness of John L. Luxembourger, Fire Chief, on motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Deckert and carried. John Garthe, Assistant Chief, was appointed Acting Fire Chief until such time as John L. Luxembourger resumes his regular duties. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and carried, the City Council adjourned. Present: Trustees Dale G. Deckert, W. Eugene Dixon, W.J.Cheney, Asa HofDman. Absent: Trustees Otto R. Haan The Clerk commenced the reading of the Minutes and each member of the City Cmmcil having received copies of the Minutes of July 16th, 1945 and ~ly Zlst, 1948, further reading of the Minutes was dispensed with and approved on motion of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Deckert and carried. In Re Communication City Engineer Council Chambers Santa Aha City Hall August 6th, 1945. 7:30 P.M. Communication from District Engineer, Federal Works Agency advising that the United States Congress has made funds available for the preparation of plans for post-war construction projects, was read an~ on motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried, communication was received and filed. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried, the Mayor of the City of Santa Aha will part- icipate, as an honorary member, of the Ernie Pyle Memorial and Clerk to advise the ~.layor of Terre Haute this action. of On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried, the Clerk was authorized to advise the Metro- politan Water District that the taxes for the fiscal year 1945-1946 would be certified to the County Auditor and extended on the tax rolls. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and carried, communication from City Engineer recommending that Ordinance 1052 be amended to prohibit cross connect- ions by privately owned water wells to City wat~ supply, was referred to City Attorney with instructions to amend ordinance.
