The recommendation of the City Auditor that the bid of the Santa Aha Register is the lowest and has a greater circulation than the Or,nMe County Reporter, and that contract for legal advertising should be awarded to the Santa Aha Register, was read. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and carried, the recommendation of the Auditor was concurre¢ in and contract covering City Advertising was awarded t¢ the Santa Ana Register. The application of the Pacific Electric Ry. Co. for authority to abandon and remove 2420 feet of double track on 4th St. from a point near French St. westerly to the end of the line, and to relocate track across the southerly part of 4th St. and two tracks across 3rd S t. and to construct two tracks across 2nd St. at depot yard near French St., was read. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Che~?y and carried, the application of the Pacific Electric Railway Company to abandon this track was approved, and Clerk authorized to write to the Railroad Commission stating that the City of Santa Ana has no objection to granting of this application and copy of such letter forwarded to the P?clfic Electric Ry. Co. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried, the Mayor and Clerk were authorized to execute the lease between the City of Santa Ana and the Pacific Electric Railway Co. covering a private road cros sing over Pacific Electric Railway Company's Newport Beach Line right-of-way at Engineer's Station 1905585.38, County of Orange, at a rental of ~8.00 per year, for the period September l, 1948 to August 31, 1946. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and carried, application of Powell Neon Sign Co. to hang a neon sign for C.H.Slater Cafe, ~18 No. Main St. was granted and sign ordered hung under supervision of Electrical Inspector. On recormmendation of the Chief of Police and on motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Cheney and carried, the appointment of Ralph R.
