Council Chambers Santa Aha City Hall September 17th, 1945. 7:30 P.M. City Council met in regular session. Meeting called to order by Mayor Hoffman. Present: T~ustees Dale G. Deckert, Otto R. Haan, W. Eugene Dixon, W. J. Cheney, Asa Hoffman. Absent: Trustees None. The Clerk commenced the reading of the Minutes and each member of the City Council having received copies of the Minutes of September 4th, 1948, further reading of the Minutes was dispensed with and approved on motion of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Dixon and carried. In Re Minutes of J.O. Sewer Board. In Re Protest G.B. McIntosh. In Re Sale of Tax Delinquent Property. In Re Not i fic at ion Alcoholic Beverages. In Re Applications Taxicab Drivers. In Re Petition for Aid for Returning Servicemen & Women. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and carried, the Minutes of meeting of Executive Board of the Joint Out- fall Sewer, held in Anaheim, September 6th, 1945, were received, approved and filed. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and carried, the communication of G.B. McIntosh, R.D. 4 Box 706, Santa Ana with reference to disposing of cans and rubbish at the city dump and requesting permit, was referred to the City Engineer to advise Mr. McIntosh that it is impossible to allow the dump to be used for outside use. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried, the Clerk was instructed to advise the County Tax Collector that the City Council consents to the sale at public auction of Lot l0 Block B of Bartletts Addition in Santa Ana. On motion of Trustee Deckert, the notification of the State seconded by Cheney and carried, Board of Equalization of alco- holic beverage application made by Victor M. Walker, Clarence R. Sackerson and Keris E. Sharrock at 1201 N. Main Street, was received and filed. On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Deckert and carried, applications of Anuai Jack Link, George E. Pierson, Jr., Jtnnie Berkely, Eugene A. Flinn, Anthony ~. Palancl and George Carter for permits to drive taxicabs, were granted and Clerk authorized to issue licenses. ,, Representatives of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled ~merican Veterans appeared before the Council requesting that the City of Santa Aha appropriate the sum of $5,000.00 for the employment of a Director and a stenographer to act through the Orange County Veterans Ser- vice Office to assist returning servicemen and women, and after much discussion a motion was made by Trustee Deckert,
