In Re Advertise for Bids 3 Vertical Sewage Pumps In Re Lighting System ~untcipal Bowl. In Re Bids on Cast Iron Pipe. APPROVED: On motion of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Dixon and carried, the City Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids, for the City of Santa Ana as contracting City of the Joint Out- fall Sewer, for the furnishing of materials and installing of three vertical sewage pumps motors complete with automatic October 1st, 1948. On motion of Trustee Haan, directly connected to electric starters; bids to be opened seconded by Cheney and carried, the recommendation of Dale Griggs, Park Supt., to install 12 new reflectors on the west side of the Municipal Bowl immediately and the east side of the Bowl be improved during the next fiscal year, was approved and work ordered complete~ The committee having checked the bids submitted on cast iron pipe, on motion of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Haan and car- ried, the bid of the American Cast Iron Pipe Company in the total amount of $14,830.00, was accepted as the lowest bid. On motion of Trustee Dixon, the City Council adjourned. seconded by Cheney and carried, City Clerk. Council Chambers Santa Ana City Hall October 1st, 1948. C~ty Council met in regular session. Meeting called to order by Mayor Hoffman. Present: Trustees Dale G. Deckert, Otto R. Haan, W. Eugene Dixon, Asa Hoffman. Absent: Trustees W. J. Cheney The Clerk commenced the reading of the Minutes and each member of the City Council having received copies of the Minutes of September l~th, 1948, further reading of the Minutes was dispensed with and approved on motion of Trustee Dixon~ seconded by Haan and carried. In Re Communication Chamber of Cormmerce In Re Resignations Fire Dept. 7:30 P.M. Communication from Chamber of Commerce advising that due to shortage of time~ flowers and help they would be unable to provide a float in the Tournament of Roses Parade was read, and on motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Deckert and carried Mayor was instructed to advise Chairman of Tournament of Roses explaining that due to shortage of time~ flowers, etc. City of Santa Ana would be unable to prepare a float. Comunication from Chief of Fire Dept. advising of request of M. R. Bellows for a leave of absence for a period of six months~ effective Oct. 16, 1948 and comunication from
