Main St., was held over for thirty days, and Clerk <br />authorized to advertise in accordance with automobile <br />dealer's ordinance. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Deckert and <br />carried, the reading of a cormnunication from "Citizen", <br />without signature, refe~nce to the Jtunior College site <br />was dispensed with. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Deckert and <br />carried, stumnons of Superior Court on complaint of <br />Edw. Wheeler, ex-fireman against the City of Santa Aha <br />for back salary due him, was referred to the City <br />Attorney for action. <br /> <br />,, <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Dixon~ seconded by Haan and <br />carried, lease between City of Santa Ana and M.Babylon <br />covering rental of Lot A and all of Blocks l, 2, 3 and <br />4, Tract No. 681, for the period Nov. 29, 1948 to Nov. <br />22, 1946, in the amount of $825.00, was approved and <br />Auditor authorized to sign lease. <br /> <br />A petition was read signed by sixty-eight residents and <br />property owners in the vicinity of the west side of <br />Halladay St. between Myrtle and Bishop Str~,ets, and <br />extending west through Hickory St., located in a <br />residential district, requesting that an Ordinance be <br />adopted restraining anyone from lighting and burning <br />smudge pots of any type within the limits of the City o <br />Santa Ana. <br /> <br />Jack Zeller appeared before the Board stating that the <br />lighting and burning of smudge pots t8 a threat to <br />the health of hundreds of people and will damage homes <br />and furnishings. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Haan and <br />carried, petition was referred to the City Attorney <br />for study and to report back at the next meeting. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and <br />carried, Grant Deed for right of way for 6th St. from <br /> <br />Terminal St. to the Railroad right of way line, between <br />the City of Santa Aha. and Harold G. G~oder and Helen O. <br />Gooder, husband and w~fe, w~s referred to the City . <br />Attorney with instructions to prepare Resolution cover <br />lng such Grant Deed. <br /> <br /> <br />
