Main St., was held over for thirty days, and Clerk authorized to advertise in accordance with automobile dealer's ordinance. On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Deckert and carried, the reading of a cormnunication from "Citizen", without signature, refe~nce to the Jtunior College site was dispensed with. On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Deckert and carried, stumnons of Superior Court on complaint of Edw. Wheeler, ex-fireman against the City of Santa Aha for back salary due him, was referred to the City Attorney for action. ,, On motion of Trustee Dixon~ seconded by Haan and carried, lease between City of Santa Ana and M.Babylon covering rental of Lot A and all of Blocks l, 2, 3 and 4, Tract No. 681, for the period Nov. 29, 1948 to Nov. 22, 1946, in the amount of $825.00, was approved and Auditor authorized to sign lease. A petition was read signed by sixty-eight residents and property owners in the vicinity of the west side of Halladay St. between Myrtle and Bishop Str~,ets, and extending west through Hickory St., located in a residential district, requesting that an Ordinance be adopted restraining anyone from lighting and burning smudge pots of any type within the limits of the City o Santa Ana. Jack Zeller appeared before the Board stating that the lighting and burning of smudge pots t8 a threat to the health of hundreds of people and will damage homes and furnishings. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Haan and carried, petition was referred to the City Attorney for study and to report back at the next meeting. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and carried, Grant Deed for right of way for 6th St. from Terminal St. to the Railroad right of way line, between the City of Santa Aha. and Harold G. G~oder and Helen O. Gooder, husband and w~fe, w~s referred to the City . Attorney with instructions to prepare Resolution cover lng such Grant Deed.
