On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Cheney and carried, the report of the City Attorney giving his opinion relative to annexation of property described as the territory to the southwest of Santa Aha including the Santa Aha Air Base,that petition would have to be circulated with signatures totaling 25% of the qualifie. electors requesting that an election be held for annexation, wam accepted.The Clerk was instructed to advise the Santa Aha Board opinion. On motion of Trustee Haan, of Mealtors of the Attorney' seconded by Dixon and carried, the Mayor and Engineer, as a committee, were authorized to request and urge the Board of Supervisors to proceed with the enlargement of the drainage ditch south of Santa Aua to permit the City of Santa Aha to enlarge the storm sewer system. On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Cheney and carried, due to inability to obtain labor and materials !~1,250,000.00 of the funds derived from sale of bonds on the recent bond election cannot be used for at least a year, that said sum be invested under the authority of Act 2827 of the General Laws, in bonds of the United States which may be cashed at any time after the expiration of not to exceed six months. On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Haan and carried, the City Council adjourned. City Clerk Council Chamber Santa Ana City Hall July 15th, 1946. 7:80 P.~i. City Council met in regular session. Cheney, Asa HofDman Absent: Trustees None The Clerk con~uenced the reading of the Minutes and each member of the City Council having received copies of the Minutes of July 1st, 1946, further reading of -the Minutes was dispensed with and approved on motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried.
