Ail that real property bounded on the north by the south line of W. 17th Street; on the south by a line parallel to said south line of W. 17th Street and 175 feet south thereof; on the east by a line 110 feet east of and parallel to the east line of Freeman Street extended North; and on the west by the center line of North Towner Si;feet extended north, in accordance with application of Emmet Rogers, was introduced, read, considered and placed on file for second reading. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried~ Resolution No. 85 of the Planning~ Commission approving application for variance of Claude B. Sedgwick to operate a real residence at 1515 E. First estate office within his Street, was approved. No written or oral protests having been received against the establish~hant of set-back lines on W. 17th Street between Flower Street and the westerly city limits, on motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Deck- err and carried, the following Ordinance entitled: "An Ordinance of the City of Santa Aha establishing Set-back Lines upon West Seventeenth Street, on both sides of said street, from Flower Street to the westerly limits of the City." was introduced, read, considered and placed on file for second reading. The statement of the City Clerk was read certifying signatures of voters on that the/initiative petition for City Recreation Com- mission, had been examined and found sufficient, it was moved by Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried, that the City Attorney be instructed to pre- pare a Resolution o* 7utention to place the initiative measure on the November 5th election ballot for the establishment of a Recreation Dept. for the City of Santa Ana under management of a Recreation Commission. Since the voters of southeast Santa Ana have voted favorably to be annexed to the City of Santa Ana and since the Council is now c.~mpleting such annexation, it was moved by Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried, that the Board of Supervisors be reques- ted to reprecinct the territory being annexed so that said territory may be precincted for the General Election to be held November 5th, 1946. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried, the law firm of 0'Melveny and Myers was em- ployed to conduct all necessary proceedings in con- nection bond election for Recreation Park to be held November 8th, 1946, at a fee of one-tenth of one per cent of the total bond issue.
