Communication of City Engineer was read,stating that he had informed property owners on Broadway, between Edinger and Pomona Streets that the City did not construct curbs and t?~at they could proceed with the construction of curbs, subject to obtaining permits in accordance with lines and grades established by the City. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried, the report of the Engineer was accepted relative to set-back lines and the City Attorney was instructed to prepare the necessary Resolution for the establishment of eet-back lines 40 feet on each side of the center line of South Broadway with a minimum distance between curbs of 54 ft. Communication of the Federal Public Housing Authority was read, stating the necessity of the City of Santa Aha to enter into a supplemental agreement for the additional allotment of twenty housing units at the West Eighth Street Headquarters. On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Cheney and carried, the following Resolution entitled: "A Resolution authorizing the execution of a supple- mental agreement between the United States of America acting by and through the Federal Public Housing Authority and the City of Santa Aha to provide addi- tional te~rary housing pursuant to Title V (as amended) oi' ~anham Act" was read, considered, designated Resolution No. 3480 and passed by the following vote: Ayes, Trustees W. Eugene Dixon, Dale G. Deckert, IV. J. Cheney, Asa Hoffman. Noes, Trustees None Absent, Trustees Otto R. Haan. On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Cheney and car- ried, the report of the investigating committee was ac- cepted and the application of Sheldon Detectives for a permit to conduct a private patrol in the City of Santa Ana, was denied. On motion of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Dixon and car- ried, the request of Ed ~iarley for M. Eltiste & Co. for the removal of 17 palm trees from the parking in front of their property on the south side of E. First Street, was referred to the Forestry Board. ,, On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Deckert and car- ried, the City Attorney was instructed to amend Ordinance No. 906 to permit advertising upon benches placed in the City for the convenience of bus patrons; type and loca- tion of such benches to be under supervision of the City
