Fink - Use of Municipal Bowl In Re Request City Engineer - Light Standards Communication from Director of Recreation Dept. request- ing use of Municipal Bowl for May Day Festival on May 3rd, 1946 and Soft-Ball Program from May 1st, 1946 $o Sept. l, 1948 was read and on motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried, request was referred to Park Supt., Auditor and Trustee Deckert for study and schedule. ,, Communication from Assistance League of Orange County, requesting use of Municipal Bowl for Annual Orange County Horse Show mud Fair on June l?th through June 23rd, 1946, was read and on motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and carried, request was granted. Request of Jasper Farney for permission to install a 35 ft. driveway on Sixth Street, just East of Ross Stre~ to serve four garages in connection with apartment hou~ was read, and on motion of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Deckert and carried, permission to install driveway was granted. Request of Water Superintendent recommending that 5000 feet of twelve inch diameter Enamcline (cement lined) class 150, bell and spigot cast iron pipe; and 2000 feet of eight inch diameter Enameline, class 150, bell and spigot cast iron pipe be purchased, was read and on motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and carried the Clerk was authorized to advbrtise for bids covering the purchase of this material. ,, On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried, the request of Herman 0. Fink for permission to use the Municipal Bowl for the purpose of staging motorcycle races was denied and Clerk instructed to so advise Mr. Fink of this action. Communication from City Engineer stating that one side of all double ornamental light standards have been un- lighted except in the central business district and that the midnight circuit, usually every other light, has beea out of service on most of the ornamental systems where single light standards are used and recommending that these lights be placed back in service, was read. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and carried, the Clerk was authorized to advertise for bids covering the removal and/or replacement of broken glassware on all light standards.
