<br />"Resolution Authorizing and Directing the
<br />City Clerk to advertise for bids for the
<br />construction of sewer lines, laterals and
<br />mamholes on Bristol Street, from Seventeenth
<br />Street to Garden Grove Boulevard, in the
<br />City of Santa Arm, and fixing the prevailing
<br />wage rate#
<br />
<br />was reed, considered, designated Resolution No. 5894
<br />
<br />and passed by the following vote:

<br />Communication from City Engineer was read with reference
<br />
<br />to proposed Orange County Sanitation District and
<br /> order on
<br />cancellation of/approximately half of 8000 ft. of 59
<br />
<br />inch vitrified clay pipe, to be used for sewer
<br />construction, with the statement that he wished to
<br />advertise for bids for the laying of said pipe not later
<br />than October 6th, 1947.
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried
<br />the recommendation of the City Engineer was approved
<br />and bids to be called for October 6th, 1947 for the
<br />laying of sewer pipe to repair breaks in main line sewer
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried
<br />Pacific Electric Railway COmpany check No. ?094, dated
<br />Sept. 5th, 1947, amount $450.88 covering franchise for
<br />year ending September 18th, 1947, w~s referred to
<br />Auditor for checking and if correct, to be deposited in
<br />the General Fund.

<br />On motion of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Chandler and
<br />carried, notifications of the State Board of Equalizatio
<br />of alcoholic beverage applications made by Benevolent
<br />
<br />& Protective Order of Elks, 514 No. Sycamore St., and
<br />William L. Kiley and Laurence A. Miller, 1059 E. 6th St
<br />were received and filed.
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Cheney and
<br />carried, applications of Clarence R. DicSey, Roscoe J.
<br />Green, Harry Creneston, Paul D. Hickman, Melvin W.
<br />Gillespie and Wayne K. Pfingsten, to drive taxicabs wer~
<br />granted and Clerk authorized to issue licenses.

<br />0n motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Chandler and
<br />carried, applications of Eddie Martin, 2002 So. Main St..
<br />Becket and Byrd, 615 East 1st St., and Henry Koopmans,
<br />721 So. Main St., to conduct the business of dealing in
<br />motor vehicles, were held over for thirty days and Clerk
<br />
