Turner was referre <br />to the City Attorney with instructions that he <br />with him and discuss the matter as to whether it is a <br />legal or civil matter and to report back to the Council <br />at the next meeting. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Reed,.seconded by Mandy and carried <br />co~munication from Secy-Treas. Building and Constructio~ <br />Trades Co.uncil of Orange County, advising that. at a <br />regular meeting held Sept. 15th, 1947, a Resolution <br />regarding the Orange County Sewerage Survey was <br /> <br />unanimously adopted, was <br /> <br />Communication from Pres. <br /> <br />received and filed. <br /> <br />Santa Ana City Library Board <br /> <br />recommending appointment of Walter C. Kern, Sr. as <br />member of Library Board and communication of Harry L. <br />Hanson advising of his resignation from LSbrary Board, <br /> <br />were read. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Chandler and <br />carried, communications were ~eceived and filed and <br />appointment of Walter C. Kern, Sr. approved and <br />resignation of Harry L. Hanson accepted. Clerk to <br />write letter of re~et to Mm. Hanson and Mr. Kern to be <br />notified of his appointment. <br /> <br />Request of Clark Shaw, dba Black and Green Cab Co. for <br />permission to construct a driveway at the south edge of <br />the property at ~16 Bush Street and to improve waiting <br />room and move same to the center of the lot, was read. <br />On moti~n of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Reed and carrie~ <br />request was referred to Taxi Commission and City <br />for investigation and to report back to the Council. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and <br />carried, notification of the State Board of Equalization <br />of alcoholic beverage application made by Frank and <br />Leona W. Briggs, 502 No. Main St., dba California Coffee <br />Shop, to be transferred from Frank Briggs, was received <br />and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Chandler and <br />carried, applications of William A. Johnson and Herman <br />Kelly Cole, to drive taxicabs were granted and Clerk <br />authorized to issue licenses. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />Report of City Engineer was read recommending that a <br />street light be installed at the angle point in Sixth <br /> <br />Street about 400 feet west of Hawley Street and one <br /> <br /> <br />
