Flower for <br /> refund on City license, in the amount of $6.70, was <br /> denied. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and <br /> carried, Copy of communication from Alex Bracamontes <br /> addressed to Civil Service Board requesting ninety days <br /> leave of absence, effective October 20th, 1947, was <br /> granted subject to approval of Civil Service Board. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney and <br /> carried, request of Tenaro Pellon for permission to <br /> conduct a pool hall at 1810 West 4th St.', was referred <br /> to Chief of Police and Police Commissioner for invest- <br /> igation 'and to report back to the Council. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Reed and <br /> carried, request of Sidney L. Lowry that a street light <br /> be installed at intersection of Eleventh and Artesia <br /> Streets, was referred to City Engineer and Street <br /> Commissioner for investigation and recommendation. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by ~andy and <br /> carried, request of John Robert Booth Post #7140 V.F.W. <br /> to conduct a benefit dance at Community Club House, <br /> Oct. 17th, 1947, was received and file~l. <br /> <br /> Communication from City Engineer advising that Mr. Wilkir <br /> of the Los Angeles Airways Inc., discussed the <br /> possibility of obtaining a landing field for Helicopters <br /> delivering mail to Santa Ana, was read. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Cheney and <br />~carried, Chairman of the Board and City Engineer were <br />appointed as a committee to investigate this matter and <br />report back to the Council. <br /> <br /> <br />
