City limits to Artesia <br /> <br />This being the night set for continued hearing of <br />protests on the abandonment of §th St. between Poinsettt <br />St. on the west and Southern Pacific right-of-way on <br />the east, Fred Wilbur, attorney, representing C.S.Perez, <br />again protested this abandonment. <br />Mr. Swayne of Case-Swayne Co. protested against closing <br />of Fifth Street. <br /> <br />On motion of Truste® Cheney, seconded by Chandler and <br />carried, the abandonment of Fifth Street was denied. <br /> <br />This being the night set for hearing protests on the <br />vacation of Lowell and Olive Streets and two unnamed <br />alleys, as described in Ordinance No. 1214, and no <br />written or oral protests having been received, on <br />motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Mandy and <br />carried, the following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br /> "Resolution Vacating Portions of Lowell and <br /> Olive Streets and Two Unnamed AlSys, as <br /> Described in Ordinance No. 1214" <br /> <br />was read, considered, designated Resolution No.3612 <br />and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes, Trustees <br /> <br />W.J. Chene~, Courtney R. Chandler, <br />Allen A.Mandy, Virgil H. Reed, <br />R. Carson Smith. <br /> <br />Noes, Trustees None <br /> <br />Absent, Trustees None <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Chandler and <br /> <br />carried, the Clerk was authorized to open bids covering <br />improvement of West First Street from West city limits <br />to Artesta Street, as follows: <br /> <br />Bid of Jesse S.
