Council, pertaining to the city owned acreage <br />in the southwest section, was read. In connection <br />therewith the following resolution was offered and <br /> <br />adopted on motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Cheney~ <br />and carried, <br /> "Whereas, the southwest section of Santa Ana is <br /> lacking in park sites, and the 17.5 acres owned <br /> by the City in that section is an ideal location, <br /> in the opXnion of this council, for a city park, <br /> but as the municipal elections are immediately at <br /> hand, it is the opinion of this council that <br /> future councils should not be bound by a dedication <br /> by this council of said land for park purposes, <br /> particularly in view of the fact that no funds are <br /> available at the present time for park improvement. <br /> Now, therefore, be it resolved that this council <br /> go on record as favoring the holding of said city <br /> owned acreage for futura park purposes, and that <br /> future councils of this city cooperate in any <br /> available means or plans to eventually have a <br /> city park on said acreage# <br /> <br />Roll Ceil'Vote= Ayes, Trustees Otto R. Elks Natimal ~eague Ball Team <br />requesting assurance that their usual nights of Tuesday <br />and Friday are being held for the Elks National League <br />Nite Ball Team at the Municipal Bowl, was read. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and <br />carried, ~ the schedule of events for the spring and <br />s"mmer use of the Municipal Bowl, as submitted by the <br />committee, was accepted ~th the reservation that any <br />request of importance for use of the Bowl shall be <br />presented to the Council, which body shall have the <br />privilege of changing dates for use of the Bowl. <br /> <br /> <br />
