Neale <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Cheney and <br />carried, and on recommendation of the committee, request <br />of President Strange to conduct a pool hall at 1~14 West <br />Fourth St., was received and filed. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Chairman of the Board and on <br />motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by ~eney and carried, <br />Rogers Jewelers wac granted permission to install and <br />operate an electric chime on the roof of their building <br />at 315 No. Main St., providing that chime will operate <br />on the hour and not to exceed a time limit of one minute. <br /> <br />Copy of communication from Chief of Police addressed to <br />Civil Service Commission advising of following appoint- <br />ments, was read: Captain of Police; H.I.Fink, <br />McWilllams: Desk Sergeants, Forrest L. Duke, Franklin <br />Grouard, Clyde Flower, Jack Lentz: Sergeant of Police, <br />Jack Casey, R.M.Bradley, Harry Prichard, Paul Prentice: <br />Detectives, Tom Kinney, George Whitney, Harold Ely <br />and CoF. Johnson. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Cheney and <br />carried, request of Chief of Police was approved and <br />salary schedule to be effective Nay 15th, 1947. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the committee and on motion of <br />Trustee Mandy, seconded by Chandler and carried, request <br />of L.B.Harrison Co. for a loading zone to be established <br />at existing driveway at 307 W. 8th St., was received <br />and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried, <br />communication and amended Resolution No. 131 of the <br />Planning Commission, granting the variance application of <br />M. Eltiete Co. Inc. for permission to construct a build- <br />ing for commercial purposes to house existing busines~ <br />of applicant, on property located on E. 1st St., between <br />McClay and Lyon Streets,w~e approved, ~nder certain <br />conditions. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Chandler and <br />carried, communication and Resolution No. 132 of the <br />Planning Commission, granting the variance application of <br />Johnson H. Meal to permit the construction of a single <br />family residence on the west 50 feet of the east 100 feet <br />of Lots 4 and 5 in Block 4 of Tract No. ~5~, were <br />approved. <br /> <br /> <br />
