RESOLUTION NO. 55-180 EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO <br />PHIL M. BROWN FOR SERVICE AS MEMBER OF CIVIL SERVICE <br />BOARD <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, at the General Election held November 16, 1937, <br />Ordinance No. 1056 was adopted by the vote of the people of Santa <br />Ana, California establishing, among other things, a Civil Service <br />Board; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, PHIL M. BROWN was one of the first Board members <br />and has continuously served on said Board, now called the Per- <br />sonnel Board, until this date when reasons of personal health re- <br />quired his resignation; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, PHIL M. BROWN has given freely of his time in the <br />interest of the establishment, maintenance and operation of the <br />Civil Service System in the City of Santa Ana, California, without <br />compensation and solely as the performance of a civic duty, for a <br />period of nearly 18 years; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Council of the <br />City of Santa Aha adopts this Resolution as au expression of <br />thanks from the employees and the other citizens of the City of <br />Santa Aha, California, and personally commend PHIL M. BROWN for <br />his interest and continuous effort in his own local government <br />and his contribution to the welfare of this community. <br /> <br /> PASSED ~ID ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa <br /> <br />Ana at <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br /> CLERK OF THE COUNCIL <br /> <br />its regular meeting held on the 6th day of June, 195~. <br /> <br /> <br />
