RESOLUTION NO. 55-315 ACCEPTING GRANT DEED <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, heretofore, property ovrners on South Nain Street re- <br />quested that the City widen said Street between NcFadden Street and <br />Walnut Street for the purpose of affording easier traffic movement, <br />enhancing property values on said Street, beautifying said Street, and <br />making said Street a better business district within said City, and <br />the City Council of the City of ~Santa Ana agreed to said widening <br />program on the condition that no property would be purchased and pay- <br />ment would be made to owners only to compeneate for the removal from <br />or damage to, improvements existing within or i~ediately adjacent <br />to, the new street easement lines;and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, L. B. ARMSTRONG and LILLIAN ARNSTRONG own the property <br />herein described which property is improved with an elaborate masonry <br />porch and steps standing into the setback area and right-of-way for <br />the proposed widening and the Appraiser for the City has fixed the <br />sum of $1,000.00 as the cost of removing said porch and steps and <br />repairing and replacing the entrance to said building and the face <br />across the front thereof ~mmediately behind said porch, all of which <br />work will be necessary to complete the widening of said street and <br />said owners have agreed to deed their property to the City without <br />any consideration for the same upon payment through emcrow of the <br />$1,000.00 to compensate them for the cost of and damage to, the im- <br />provements on said property as hereinabove set out, said payment to <br />be made at close of escrow and said owners to remove said masonry <br />porch and steps from said street easement area prior to the receipt <br />of said sum of $1,000.00. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City of Santa Ana ac- <br />cepts the deed f~om L. B. AP~STRONG and LILLIAN ARNSTRONG, husband and <br />wife as Joint tenants, granting an easement for street purposes over <br />the Westerly 5'of the real property in the City of Santa Ana, County <br />of Orange, State of California, described as: <br /> <br /> <br />
