P~ESOLUTION NO. 56-27 DECLARING THAT THE STREET WORK ON THE <br />EAST SIDE OF NORTH MAIN STREET BETWEEN FIFTH AND SIXTH STRW.~TS <br />~E DONE BY THE CITY ~ITH ITS OWN ~PLO~$ <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, after regular notice inviting bids, no bids were re- <br />ceived by the City and no contractor had been found to bid on the <br />work of widening and improving North Main Street between Fifth and <br />Sixth Streets on the East side; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Manager submitted his estimate that said work <br />being in a heavy traffic area and in a small amount, that is, approx- <br />imately $5,600.00; prime contractors, being very busy, did not care <br />to bid on Jobs of this kind; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that said work may be <br />better performed by the City with its own employees; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City C~ncil hereby <br />declares that the work of improving and widening North Main Street <br />on the East side between Fifth Street and Sixth Street may be better <br />performed by the City with its own employees and instructs the City <br />Manager to proceed to have said work done by the Department of Public <br />Works. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana <br />at its regular meeting held on the 6th day of February, 1956. <br /> <br /> CLERK OF THE COUNCIL <br /> <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA ) <br />COUNTY OF ORANGE ) <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA ) <br /> <br />SS <br /> <br /> I, ERNA HUNTER, do hereby certify that I am the Clerk of the <br />Council of the City of Santa Aha; that the foregoing Resolution was <br />regu~larly introduced to said Council at its regular meeting held on <br />the bth day of Feb~ary, 1956, and was at said meeting regularly <br />passed and adopted by the following vote, to-wit: <br /> <br />AYES, COUNCILMEN: <br /> <br />Dale H.
