RESOLUTION NO. 56-283 PROHIBITING PARKING ON MAIN STREET, WALNUT TO TENTH STREET, WITH EXCEPTIONS, BETWEEN 7:00 A.M. TO 10:00 P.M. FROM DEC~24BER 3RD~ 1956 TO JAIIUARY 5TH, 1957. WHEREAS, the increasing traffic volume in and through the City of 8~uta ~ and the seasonal increase in traffic due to the large number of shoppers during the holiday season has during the past several years resulted in constriction of and interference with traffic flow on M~in Street, between Walnut and Tenth Streets, particularly during the Christmas shopping period. NOW, THE~EFOBE, BE IT RESOLVED: That parking on Main Street, between the 3rd d~y of December, 1956, end the 5th day of January, 1957, shall be limited as herein below set out: (a) All parking on the west side of Main Street, between the north line of Walnut Street and the south line of Tenth Street is hereby prohibited between the ho~rs of 7:00 A.M. andl0:00 P.M. of each day. (b) All parking on the east side of Main Street between the north line of Walnut Street and the south line of Fifth Street and between the north line of Sixth Street and the south line of Ninth Street is hereby prohibited between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 10:00 P.M. of each day. (c) Truck parking for the purposes of loading and u~loading is pro- hibited in the zones hereinabove, paragraphs (a) and (b), set out between 12 Noon to 10:O0 P.M. the same day. That the parking restrictions hereinabove set out shall not be in effect on Sundays and legal holidays. No operator shall stop, park, stand, or leave any motor vehicle in violation of the prohibitions and restrictions on parking hereinabove set out.
