<br /> On motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Dahl and carried, the bids
<br /> were referred to the City Engineer and Administrator to report 'at ~hil

<br /> Fred Vollmer, 2033 South Main S{reet appeared before the Council and
<br /> presented a petition'signed by eleven property owners and residents
<br /> in the 2000 block South Main Street objecting to the loud electrical
<br /> sound devices at {he Beer Cafe, 2037 South Main Street and requesting
<br /> that Ordinance No; 1015 be enforced by the Police Department. On
<br /> motion of Trustee iMcRride, seconded by Dahl and carried, the petition
<br /> was referred to t~e City Attorney and Chief of Police to take necessary
<br /> action to abate t~e nuisance and report at the next meeting.
<br />
<br /> On motion of Trustee Da/~l, seconded by Hunter and carried, the Clerk
<br /> was instructed to idirect a communication to the Chief of Police
<br /> requesting his presence at Council meetings, or the presence of a
<br /> ~ualified representative, in the future.

<br /> The protest of W.F.Lasby was read objecting to application of Edward
<br /> J.GargaD for variance at the southwest corner of Bristol Street and
<br /> Washington Avenue. On ~otion of Trustee Dahl, seconded by McBride
<br /> and carried, the recommendation of the Planning Commission was
<br /> approved and variance granted to Edward J. Gargan to permit a one-eto~y
<br /> tddition to the e~lsting commercial building by widening the present
<br /> north-south wing of the building approximately 23 feet, and to permit
<br /> eaves and walks imconnection therewith and to use same for retail
<br /> store purposes, subject to certain conditions. On motion of Trustee
<br /> Dahl, seconded by McBride and carried, the protest of W.F.Lasby was
<br /> received and file~.
