Peters Company for installation of a stop and go <br />signal at Sixth and Broadway, was referred to the Chief of Police and <br />the City Engineer to investigate and report back at the next meeting. <br />On recommendation of the Chief of Police and on motion of Trustee <br />Martin, seconded by Chandler and carried, the request of Fraternal <br />Order of Eagles, Santa Ana Aerie ~2821, for permission to conduct a <br />public dance at the American Legion Hall on ~aturday night, March 17, <br />1951, was granted. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Martin and carried, the <br />application of Orange County Society for Crippled children and Adults <br />to solicit funds and sell p~por Easter lillies on the streets of· <br /> <br />Santa Ana on March 17th, 1951, was granted. <br />,, <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Martin and carried, the <br />claim of Hulda L. Reed, in the sum of $220.50, for damages to propert~ <br />when a tree blew against the house at 901 South Flower Street, was <br />referred to the City Attorney and Insurance Carrier. <br /> <br />A petition was read signed by James F. Willis, Mabel J. Farmer and <br />Butt Huff requesting annexation to the City of certain real property <br />located in the County of Orange and described as follows: A parcel o~ <br />land 660 ft. north and Southby 1320 ft. east and west, bounded on the <br />east by Bristol Street and on the south by Edinger Street excepting <br />therefrom the east 262.01 ft. of the southerly ~32.50 ft. On motion <br />of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Martin and carried, the City Attorne~i <br />was instructed to prepare a Resolution to annex the real property and <br /> <br />hearing date to be set as April 19, 1951. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Martin, seconded by Chandler and carried, the <br /> <br />City Attorney was instructed to prepare a Resolution Accepting Grant <br />Deed from E~mett C. Rogers and Juna Rogers for additional right-of-wa <br />on Baker Street, from Santa Clara to Riviera Drive. <br /> <br />Communicat~on was read from the City Engineer recommending the purcha <br />of right-of-way from Charles H. Smith, Harold H. Greenwald and Glenn <br /> <br />C. Brashier on portions of property on the east side of Bristol Streel <br />between Myrtle and First Street. On motion of Trustee Chandler, <br />seconded by Martin and carried, the recommendation was approved and <br />the Mayor authorized to sign escrow instructions with said persons for <br />right-of-way. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Fire Chief and on motion of Trustee Martiu, <br />seconded by Chandler and carried, the Clerk was authorized to adverti~? <br />for bids covering 3000 feet of'2~" double Jacketed cotton, rubber <br />lined fire hose with brass rocker type couplings with 2~" National <br />standard thread; ~bids to be opened April 5th, 1951. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Fire Chief and on motion of Trustee Martin, <br />seconded by Chandler and carried, the Clerk was authorized to advertis <br />for bids for certain fire alarm cables in accordance with specificatio <br />as furnished by the Fire ChiefS bids to be opened April 5th, 1951. <br /> <br /> <br />
