RESOLUTION NO. 57-16 ORDERING THAT A PROPOSITION BE SUBMITTED TO THE ELECTORS OF THE CITY AT A GENERAL MUNICIPAL E~ECT- I0N TO BE HELD ON APRIL 9, 1957, TO A~END SECTION 402 OF THE CHARTER 0P' THE CITY 0F SANTA ANA TO INCREASE THE SALARY OF co cinm $7 .oo TO $1 5.00 MONTH BE IT _~ESOLVED: That the City Council, on its own motion, hereby authorizes and directs that a proposition be submitted to the Electors of the City proposing amendment to Section 4o2 of the Charter of the City of Santa Aha to provide a monthly compensation for each member of the City Council of $125.00 instead of the present $75.00, so that said Section will read as follows: "Section 402. CITY COUNCIL: COMPENSATION OP' ~EMBERS. Each member of the City Council shall receive as 'compensation for his services as such a monthly salary in the sum of One Hundred Twenty-Five Dollars~125.00). Further, each member of the City Council shall receive reimbursement for required travel and other expenses while on official business outside the City as authorized and approved by the City Council. Absence of a member of the City Council from all regular and special meetings of the City Council during any calendar month shall render him ineligible to receive the monthly salary for such a calendar month unless hy permission of the City Council expressed in its official minutes." BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the proposition to be placed upon the ballot for submission to the Electors of the City be in the words and figures as follows: Shall the Charte~ of the City of Santa Aha be ) amended by amending SectiOn402 thereof to ) ~ES provide that each member of the City Council ) shall receive as compensation for his services ) a monthly salary in the sum of ~125.00~ ) NO The Clerk of the Council is hereby directed to print the proposed amendments to the Charter of the City of Santa Ana in one issue of the Santa Aha Independent not less than 40 days nor more than 60 days before said Election; to cause the same to be printed and cause a copy thereof enclosed in an envelope with sample ballot to be msiled to each Voter, to publish a "Notice of ~easures to be voted upon," and to publish a notice that a copy of proposed amendments may be had by registered electors on application thereof, all as required by law.
