RESOLUTION NO. 57-67 DECLARING INTENTION TO CALL A SPECIAL ELECTION IN TERRITORY DESIG- NATED "NORTH OF SMELTZER ANNEXATION" AND FIXING DATE OF HEARING PROTESTS AGAINST SAID ELECTION WHEREAS, after approval of the description of territory by the Boundary Commission of Orange County, approval of the annex- ation herein referred to by the Santa Ana Plannio~ Commission, con- sent by the City Council of Santa Ana to the commencement of said annexation proceedings, publication of Notice of Intention to Cir- culate Petition for said annexation, the circulation, filing, and checking of the petition for annexation, and the certification that said petition is sufficient, having been signed by more than one- fourth of the qualified electors residing within the territory pro- posed to be ~nexed, and described hereinbelow, the City Council now finds that all necessary steps, as required by law, have been complied with, that said petition is complete and sufficient, and satisfies all statutory requirements. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Santa Aha that said City Council hereby declares its in- tention to call a special election and its i~ention to submit the question of annexation to sa d City to the electors residing in the territory known by the name of "North of Smeltzer Annexation", the botuudaries of ~ich territory are hereinbelow described. BE IT ~JRTi~R RESOLVED that notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held at the hour of ?:30 P. M. on May 20th, 19~7 in the Council Chambers on the 3rd floor of the City Hall, Third and Main Streets, Santa Ana, California. Any owner of property within said territory may at any time not later than the hour set for said hearing, file a written protes~ against said election. Any such protest shall state in general terms the n~Gne of the owner of the property affected and the location and area of the property. The City Council will then and there hear objection to said elec- tion upon any such written protest so filed, and may continue said hearing from time to time as may be necessary.
