RESOLUTION NO. 57-68 DECLARING INTENTION TO CALL A SPECIAL ELECTION IN TERRITORY DESIGNATED "SOUTH OF SME~.TZERANNEXATION" AND FIXING DATE OF HEARING PROTESTS AGAINST S~ D ELECTION V~UEREAS, after approval of the description of territory by the Boundary Commission of Orange County, mAoroval of the mmexation herein referred to by the Smta Ana Planning Commission, consent by the City Council of Santa &ua to the commencement of s~ d annexation proceedings, publication of Notice of Intention to Circulate Petition for ssi d annexation, the circulation, filing, and checking of the petition for mnexation, and the certification that said petition is sufficient, having been signed by more than one-fourth of the qual- ified electors residing within the territory proposed to be annexed, and described hereinbelow, the City Council now finds that all nec- essary steps, as required by law, have been complied with, that said aa d sufficient, and satisfies all statutory re- petition is complete quirements; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Santa Aha that said City Council hereby declares its intention to call a special election and its intention to submit ~ e question of annexation to said City to the electors residing in the territory known by the name of "South of Smeltzer Annexation't, the boundaries of which territory are hereinbelow described; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held at the hour of 7:30 P. M. on Nay 20th, 1957 in the Council Chambers on the 3rd floor of the City Hall, Third and Main Streets, Santa Ana, California. Any owner of property within ssid territory mayat any time not later than the hour set for said hea~ing, file a written protest against said election. Any such pro- test shall state in general terms the name of the owner of the property affected and the location and area of the property. The City Council will then and there hear objection to ssid election upon any such written protest so filed, and m~ continue said hearing from time to time as may be necessary;
