boilers, two 1V5 horsepower cross compound condensing <br />steam engines, directly connected with two 1V5 horse- <br />power electric generators, one electric switch board, <br />approximately six miles of electric transmission line, <br />together with the necessary apparatus, appliances, <br />equipment, machinery, and poles with which to construct <br />and install and the~onstruction and installation of two <br />electric generating units and transmission line, with <br />which to generate and transmit electric energy for light- <br />ing the public streets, buildings, an~ places of the <br />city of Santa Ana, and operating the pumps~of the water <br />system thereof. <br /> <br /> The construction of said electric light and <br /> <br />power plant is necessary and convenient in order to <br />carry out the objects, purposes and powers of the city <br />of Santa Ana in the lighting of its public streets, <br />buildings, and places and the operatio~ of the p~nups of <br />its water system. <br /> <br /> The cost of saidelectric light and power ~lant <br /> <br />is estimated to be the sum of $75,000.00, and is and <br />will be too great to be paid out of the ordinary annual <br />income and revenue of the city of Sant~ Ana.. <br /> Section 4. <br /> <br /> 5~at the public ~nterest and also the public <br />necessity demands the construction of almunicipal im- <br />provement by the City of Santa Ana, to-wit: street <br />work, consisting ot the paving of a portion of West <br />Fifth Street, an open public street in the city of <br />Santa Ana, from the place of its fntersect~on by Baker <br />Street west to the westerly boundary of t]~e city ~f <br />Santa Aha with an adequate concrete base overlaid <br />finished with an asphaltic concrete top or wearing sur- <br />face, and the construction in and across West Fifth <br />Street at a point thereon a~roximat~'ly 425 feet west of <br />the center line of English Street of one concrete twin <br />culvert. <br /> <br /> The Construction of said street work is necessary <br />and convenient in order to carry out the objects, pur- <br />poses and powers of the city of Santa Ana in providing <br />safe and sufficient means of public travel. <br /> <br /> The cost of said street work is estimat ed to be <br /> <br />the s~m of $22,000.00, and is and will be too great to <br />be paid out of the ordinary annual income and revenue <br />of the city of Santa Aha. <br /> <br /> <br />
