~es~ved, ~that the city of Santa L~a hereby rejects all of said proposals or bids except that hereinafter next mentioned and hereby awards the contract for doing said work and improve- ment to the lowest responsible bidder tl~erefor, to wit: B. R. Ford, at the price ba~ed in his bid, as follows: Item l~ ~l~e regrading to a sub-grade ~nd the laying of a six (G) inch concrete p~v~ment wit? belt-finish wearing sur- face, co,plate with the furnis~ing of a~l necessary equipment and material on an estimate of 188,~G~.8 square feet for the sum of twenty-~wo and three fourths cents (~ ~ ~0.~2 3/4) per square foot. Item 2. furnishing of mate of 3,226 ~he constr~ction of concrete curb commlete with all necessary equipment a~d material on an esti- linear feet for the sum of Forty cents (~0.40) per linear foot. Item 3. 'he trenching, furnishing and laying of seventy- four (V4) four (4) inch house branch sewers from the main sewer to the curb llne complete with furnishing of ~1 necessary equip. merit and material on an estimate of 15~6 linear feet, for the sum of Forty cents (~0.40) per linear foot. Item 4. ~e trenching, f~rnishfn? ~d laying of seven (V) six (6) inch stub end main sewers complete with the furnish- ing of all ~2he necessary equipment and material and the back filling of trench on an est!~uate of 210 linear feet for the sum of Sixty cents ($0.60) per linear foot. Item 5. The trenching, furnishing, ten (lC) inch stub end main sewer complete a~d laying of one (1) with the furnishing of all the necessary equipment and material, and the back- filling of trench on an cst.mate of 21 linear feet for the sum of One dollar ($1.00) per linear foot. Item 6. The construction of concrete combination ct~rb and gutter complete with the ft~r~ishfng of all nece~sary equip- ment and material~ according to p]_a~ns and specifications on an estimate of 4820 linear feet for the sum of One dollar and ninety-five cents (~1.95) per linear foot. Item V. The construction of a special twenty inch curb comoletewith furnishing of all necessary equlpme~-~t and material according to plans and specifications on an estimate of 2V6 linear feet for the sum of Fifty-five ~ents (~ = ,i.:0.5o) per linear foot. ~&he Clerk of the City of .Santa l';na is hereby directed to post notice of' thisaward with sreclf~catlons for ~ive days on or near the council chamber door of the co;~ncll chamber of the Board of Trustees of the city of Santa Ana, and also publish said notice twice in SANTA /;NA DAILY EVENING REGISTER, a da~Jg newspape~ publishing smd circ~lated in the city of Santa Ama, for that purpose by the Board of Trustees.
